The Archipelago comes ashore at Bedok Reservoir
The Archipelago has got to be the coolest suburban condo development yet. It literally sits on the Bedok Reservoir, and you’ll get a breath-taking view of the reservoir at dawn and dusk. What’s more, you’ll get plenty of fresh air when you’re there! This will be hot, hot, hot!
UOL won the bid in March this year at $320m. The break-even cost worked out to $800-$900psf already.

The Archipelago is located in a soon-to-be happening part of Bedok, since other housing developments such as the DBSS Belvia are located within the area as well. We foresee the reservoir to be a really really crowded place in the next couple of years!
The best part about this condo is that it’s around five to eight minutes from Bedok Town Park MRT of the DownTown Line leg, to be ready in 2017. Bedok Central and Tampines Central are also within a couple of minutes’ drive. The PIE exit is really close by too, so getting to the CBD is pretty quick.
Location-wise The Archipelago is a winner!
According to our sources on the ground, the average price is around $1,000 psf. We suspect the average price could be brought down by the larger semi-D units in the development. Chances are the high-rise apartments could be going even higher, we’re guessing anywhere from $1,200 to $1,500 psf. We’ll know when the condo opens for preview tomorrow.
Nearby condos Waterfront Isle (99-yr, 2015) sold for an average of $1,150 psf in September and October. It’s neighbour, Waterfront Gold (99-yr), saw units sell for an average of $1,003 in September, while in October, a single unit went for $929 psf, or $1.4m.
This is just about as close you can live at the reservoir, and we’re pretty sure it’ll sell like hotcakes, given the response to the nearby Waterfront condos. Plus, with its close proximity to the MRT, it’ll be a hit with those who want a nice condo unit in the suburbs. If you’re interested, give your agents a ring or check out our classifieds.
Stay tuned. We’ll probably head down this weekend to have a look-see.
